Urinary tract infections are considered of great relevance among bacterial origin as one the third most important worldwide. These caused by bacteria belonging to Enterobacteriaceae family, such Escherichia coli, which is frequently isolated uropathogen. The objective was determine level resistance cefotaxime and ceftazidime in strains from urinary infections. Material methods. study were patients who presented infections, genus species ratified conventional microbiological antimicrobial sensitivity test performed using Kirby Bauer method minimum inhibitory concentration, testing β-lactams that belong family third-generation cephalosporins (cefotaxime ceftazidime). presence extended-spectrum β-lactamases searched for combined disc method.
